We visited a place called Anashi, which is a small village in the Western ghats and entering the village atmosphere is really beautiful. It was a bit scary when I saw the forest guest house where we were supposed to stay.
Public transportation to the forest guest house at Anashi is very less. Except for our car there was no other means of transport for us to the village from the guest house. There was no electric power either and the whole guest house was powered by solar lamps.
The beauty of the guest house is there are no concrete buildings to stay instead they provided few tents named as Horn bill, Magpie, etc;we stayed at Tent no.5 Hornbill. This was my first experience staying in a tent.

Near our guest house there was a small village where only one family is residing from many years. One should cross this village to do the trek on route No 1. And the place is really calm, the scenery is really beautiful and the life is challenging.
On our first day to this village we found malabar giant squirrel, Fantail flycatcher, Small green bee eaters among many other species of birds.

On the second day we went along the road instead of taking the trek route. In the afternoon we went to the near by bridge where a small stream was flowing. People around said that a cobra visits the place every afternoon. We weren't lucky to see the cobra, Instead, we found a Rat snake in a Ant house and the another snake in the premises of guest house itself.

Guests have a provision to provide fruits on the bear table where bear comes and have the food at night times.By night the whole area is totally dark except the guest house provided by solar lamps. At night I found a snake crawling on the tent where we were sleeping. I could see the shadow of the snake very clearly.
Within the guest house, we also found Orange headed ground thrushes premises like sparrows in a village.

We also heard from the cook that few people found leopards on the trees near by the Kali river. On the way to another village (Ulavi) we found a beautiful fruiting tree where nearly 15 species of birds were seen at the same time. It was so special that we don't want to move out of the place. We were busy in photographing the beauties. On the way to Ulavi we found small and cute village again only one family is residing here many years.Near to the house we took a short break and found barbets having their meal. The tree was filled with beautiful calls of birds.

We visited Channa Basava temple in Ulavi and couldn't make time to go to Syntheri rocks.
The drive back to Bengaluru was really awesome. We found nature at its utmost beauty near Kaiga reserviour. All along the road, there were many baby water falls on one side and deep valleys on the other. Occasionally, in the middle of the forest, there were small houses of tribals. Its really beautiful, I'm feeling like going again. All these reminds me the song "Oduva nadi sagarava seralebeku.....".
